When these terms apply
These Terms for Buyers apply when you purchase, or access something you purchased, through a LinkPay payment link. They form part of our Terms of Service, and terms defined there have the same meaning here.
You must be at least 18 years old to buy through LinkPay, and older where the law where you live requires it.
Your phone number or email is your account
LinkPay has no sign-up form. When you enter a phone number or an email address at checkout and confirm the code we send you, that identifier becomes your account and you enter into these Terms at that moment. There is no separate registration step and no password. If you have bought through LinkPay before, entering the same identifier signs you back into the same account.
The code we send is how we know the identifier is yours. It is valid for a few minutes. Anyone who can receive messages at that phone number or email address can sign in as you, so treat access to it the way you would treat a password.
You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@linkpay.co if you think someone else has used it.
If you give up a phone number or email address
Because the identifier is the account, whoever controls it controls the account. Phone numbers get reassigned to new subscribers and email addresses get recycled or taken over.
If you stop using a phone number or email address you have bought with, contact us at support@linkpay.co so we can detach it. Otherwise a later holder of that identifier could sign in and see what you purchased, along with the last four digits and expiry of any card saved to it. We will also detach an identifier at the request of someone who demonstrates it is now theirs.
We are telling you this plainly because it is a real consequence of a checkout with no password, and it is not obvious.
Messages we send you
By entering a phone number, you consent to receive text messages from LinkPay at that number for the purpose of signing you in and confirming your purchases. These are transactional messages, sent because you asked for them — a one-time code, and a receipt.
We do not send marketing texts. If that ever changes, we will ask for your consent separately, and consent to marketing will never be a condition of buying anything.
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan. Message frequency depends on how often you sign in and buy. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of sign-in codes means you will no longer be able to sign in with that phone number; use an email address instead. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
If you enter an email address instead, the same messages are sent by email. We send them to the identifier you gave us and not to any other, which is both a practical matter and a privacy one.
Consent to receive these communications electronically is covered by our Electronic Communications Consent.
What you are buying
A payment link describes what is on offer, the price, and the kind of access you receive. Read it before paying — the seller sets all of it, and it is what you are agreeing to buy. There are two kinds of access:
- Permanent access — the access does not expire.
- Timed access — the access expires after the period stated on the link, measured from when you paid. It does not renew, and buying again is a new purchase.
A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable right to view what you bought, for yourself. You may not redistribute, resell, publicly share, or re-upload it — including by sharing your account or by passing on a link that only works because you paid.
Some links may be limited to a set number of buyers, or may stop accepting purchases at a time the seller chose. A link that has closed cannot be bought.
Your access outlasts the seller’s arrangements
What you paid for stays yours. If the seller later closes their account, leaves the organization that made the link, removes the link, or is suspended, the access you already purchased remains available to you for as long as that purchase entitled you to it. Timed access still expires on its own clock. The only exceptions are content that is unlawful, or that we are required to remove — and if that happens to something you paid for, contact us at support@linkpay.co.
Paying, and the card you save
Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers. Prices are shown and charged in US dollars. If your card was issued outside the US or in another currency, your card issuer will convert the amount and may add its own fees, which we do not control and do not receive.
The charge appears as SLUSHY on your statement, not as LinkPay. LinkPay is powered by Slushy and bills under its merchant account. If you are reading this because you did not recognize a charge, that is the explanation.
We never see or store your full card number. It goes from your browser directly to our payment provider. What we keep is a reference the provider gives us — useless to anyone without our own merchant credentials — plus the card brand, last four digits, and expiry date, so you can recognize which card it is.
When you pay with a new card, we save it to your account so that buying again is one tap. You authorize us to charge a card you have saved when you tap to pay with it. We only ever charge it when you do — there are no recurring charges or subscriptions on LinkPay. Your first saved card becomes the default the one-tap button offers.
You can remove a saved card at any time; contact support@linkpay.co if you cannot find the control for it. Removing a card does not affect access you have already bought.
Refunds, cancellations, and disputes
Because access is delivered digitally and immediately, sales are generally final. What rights you do have — including any cooling-off right where the law gives you one — and how to raise a problem with a purchase are set out in Refunds and Disputes. Please read it before contacting your bank: a chargeback is slower for you than asking us, and we would rather fix it.
How you behave
The Acceptable Use Policy applies to you as well as to sellers. In particular, do not attempt to capture, copy, or circumvent the protections on content you have paid to view, and do not use LinkPay to harass a seller.
If you believe something on LinkPay is unlawful, infringes your rights, or shows you without your consent, please report it — see Content Moderation, Reporting and Removal. If it is a copyright matter, see the DMCA Notice.
Your information
What we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy. Two things worth knowing here: the seller you buy from is told that a purchase happened and can see a record of you as one of their customers, and we do not share your phone number or email address with other buyers. Questions about your information go to [privacy@linkpay.co].
