When this policy applies
This policy explains when a purchase made through a LinkPay payment link can be refunded, and how to raise a problem. It forms part of our Terms of Service, the Terms for Buyers and the Terms for Sellers.
Nothing here removes rights the law where you live gives you. Where those rights are greater than what this policy offers, those rights apply.
The general rule: digital sales are final
Access is delivered digitally and immediately. Once you have been given access to what you bought, the sale is generally final — there is nothing to return, and the seller cannot un-deliver it.
That is the starting point, not the whole story. The rest of this policy sets out when you can get your money back anyway.
When you can get a refund
We will refund you where:
- You did not get what the link described. A seller must deliver what they advertised. If what you received is materially different, missing, or unusable, you are entitled to a refund.
- It never worked. The content is corrupted, will not play, or the access you paid for did not activate — and it was not fixed within a reasonable time.
- You were charged more than once for the same thing, or charged in error.
- The charge was not authorized by you. If someone used your card or your account without permission, tell us — see below.
- The content should not have been sold — for example, it breached our Acceptable Use Policy and we removed it.
We will not refund you because you changed your mind about content you have already viewed, because you did not read what the link said, or because you were suspended for breaching our Terms.
Cooling-off rights
Consumers in the UK, the EU and some other jurisdictions have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within 14 days. For digital content, that right can be given up — but only if you expressly agreed to immediate access and acknowledged that agreeing meant losing the right to cancel.
[⚠ To be settled before this document is final. LinkPay’s checkout does not currently ask for that acknowledgement, so the 14-day right is not validly disapplied today. Either checkout must present it — a line the buyer accepts before paying, recorded with the order — or this policy must honour the 14 days for consumers in those jurisdictions. Whichever way it is decided, this section must state it plainly and match what the checkout actually does.]
If you believe you have a statutory right to cancel, contact us at support@linkpay.co and we will honour it.
How to raise a problem
Email support@linkpay.co. Tell us what you bought, when, and what is wrong with it. If you can, include the link you bought from — it makes finding the purchase immediate.
We aim to respond within five business days. We may ask the seller for their side, and we may look at what was delivered in order to decide.
Please come to us before contacting your bank. A chargeback takes months and your bank cannot see what was delivered. We can usually resolve it in days. If we get it wrong, your right to go to your card issuer is unaffected.
If you are a seller
When someone buys from you, you take on an obligation to them directly: what you deliver must match what you described, must work, and must be free of anything harmful.
You can refund a buyer yourself at any time. Where we decide a refund is owed under this policy, you authorize us to end that buyer’s access and to deduct the refunded amount from your balance. Where the amount has already been paid out to you, it is recovered from what you earn next — see Payment Terms.
We will tell you when a refund is claimed against one of your sales and give you an opportunity to respond before deciding, except where the claim is that the content breached our Acceptable Use Policy, where we may act first.
A high rate of refunds or chargebacks is a problem. Card networks penalise it, and we may restrict or suspend selling if yours is persistently high — usually a sign that listings are not describing what buyers actually receive.
Chargebacks
If you ask your card issuer to reverse a charge, the issuer decides, and it can take up to 90 days or longer. We may respond with evidence that the purchase was authorized and delivered. Filing a chargeback on a purchase you did make and did receive is fraud, and we may close your account and withdraw access to anything you bought. How a chargeback affects a seller’s balance is set out in Payment Terms.
